A excellent choice for a rock garden, fresh, vibrant and contrasts nicely above a tough, succulent green 5" rosette that develops into a mound over time. The name sunset strain adequately describes the delightful range of colours; pink, salmon, rose, white to yellow, orange, red and magenta. Large star shaped flowers commence in late Spring, till early Summer. Likes, dry sandy soil with good drainage. Wet winters are not kind to Bitterroot and may not survive. Bitterroot has a deep taproot, once established does not like to be moved. Deadheading will encourage a rebloom.
