An excellent specimen tree with tassel-like red flowers appearing before the leaves. They sport an oval, rounded head and reddish-purple-to-green foliage which changes to yellow, orange, and scarlet in autumn. The exfoliating bark reveals a medley of colours: silver-gray, green, white, and tan.
