An excellent choice for the woodland garden adding interest and texture. The flowers, foam like plumes are white with a slightly pink tinge grow on tall straight stems. Foliage is shaped like maple leaves with burgundy patches. The blooms appear in Spring for several weeks. To retain a tidy appearance, deadhead spent blooms.
There are 2 varieties of Foamflowers; 1) Heartfelt foamflower that sends out runners and 2) Tiarella Wherryi does not send out runners. An easy plant to divide. Dig up established clumps and carefully separate each plant being careful to not break the roots.
Foamflower does not produce pollen, however does produce nectar for bees and butterflies.
